About RAHSIVENG SECTION
Prior to the organization of Lunglei District, no Pastor was posted in Lunglei town. When Evan. H. Tebawnga was elected as District Pastor on May 21, 1966, it was decided that he would also serve as the town Section Pastor. This marked the beginning of the town Section, variously referred to as the 'Lunglei Section' or 'Town Section'.
In April 1967, J. Laltluanga was appointed as the town Section Pastor. Since there were no official quarters yet, they rented available housing. From the time Rev. Lalthima became the town Section Pastor, a Pastor Quarters was constructed at Rahsiveng.
The 1980 District Conference passed a resolution dividing the town into two Sections, named 'Lunglei South' and 'Lunglei North'. The 1985 District Conference further passed a resolution dividing Lunglei North into two Sections, namely 'Rahsiveng Section' and 'Pukpui Section'. Over time, the original structure required rebuilding, and in 1993, initiatives were launched to build a new Pastor Quarters, which was completed and occupied for several years. Subsequently, the current quarters was built with Rs. 20,00,000/- contributed by the District and approximately Rs. 8,00,000/- spent by the Section, and was formally inaugurated and occupied on January 25, 2024, by District Secretary Rev.
