HOW THE VEHICLE WAS ACQUIRED :

In early October 1980, during the PYD District Conference held at Cherhlun village, it was resolved: 'Realizing that ministers of the Lord and His kingdom, especially District leaders, often endure hardship in heat and rain while waiting for rides, and that important programmes are frequently disrupted due to the lack of suitable transportation, which deeply affects the congregation, we believe that if we set a joint target together with the Church Board and LAD, we can acquire a vehicle within 3 years.' They foresaw that having a vehicle would enable leaders to carry out their ministry more effectively. Following this, the District Board considered in 1981 that if PYD and LAD were each given a target of Rs. 5,000/=, making the annual target Rs. 15,000, they could purchase a good reconditioned vehicle within three years. Around this time, Rev. HL. Ruata was attending Bible College in America.

Around May 1981, unexpectedly, news reached the District that saints in America had donated Rs. 16,720.00 for a vehicle to be used in ministry, and that Rev. HL. Ruata would be bringing it back, which brought great joy to the District. Rev. HL. Ruata then requested Rev. H. Chalchhunga to meet him in Gauhati with the existing funds to complete the purchase—a moment where the Lord brought their prayers and earnest efforts together in unity. The vehicle, which was anticipated to take three years to acquire, was purchased in Gauhati on August 1, 1981, combining the Rs. 16,720.00 brought by Rev. HL. Ruata and Rs. 13,280.00 raised by the churches (totaling Rs. 30,000/=). In this manner, the Lord provided the much-needed vehicle for the Lunglei District UPC.

VEHICLE NAME AND REGISTRATION NUMBER :

As decided by the District Board, the owner shall be 'Lunglei District UPC'. The District Pastors shall serve as the primary representatives of ownership on behalf of the District.

The name of this vehicle shall be 'Christian Life Centre (UPC)'. The official vehicle registration number designated by the government shall be 'ZRM 5059'.
