The Lunglei District LAD (Ladies Auxiliary Department) was established on April 7, 1967. Under the guidance of dedicated leaders, the grace of God, and the support of church leadership, the department has worked harmoniously in spreading the Gospel and supporting the church in times of need, continuing its active work to this day. In 2017, the District L.A.D Conference was held at the UPC Church, Farm Veng Local, Lunglei, where its Golden Jubilee was grandly celebrated with a community feast. Today, the District LAD spans across 21 Sections (Bial), with LAD established in 109 Local Churches, comprising 4,233 Members and 14 Bible Women.
The Lunglei District LAD has contributed significantly to church construction projects within the district as well as in General Missions Fields. Furthermore, it has played a vital role in caring for orphans by raising funds annually through sponsorships and envelopes for the ASC Home, along with presenting various gifts. The department also provides annual scholarships to students at Calvary Bible College (CBC), actively supporting the institution. It regularly participates in Section and Local events such as Jubilees and Conferences, presenting gifts and actively collaborating to support women even in non-district-wide programs.
The department has also been instrumental in promoting cleanliness and holy living by gathering annual reports on substance abstinence and family altars (chhungkaw maicham), taking steps for progress as needed. In addition, to guide children to the Lord, the Lunglei District LAD holds special prayers for children and grandchildren, and has even published a book titled ‘Kawng Dik Kailawn’ (Ladder to the Right Path) for guidance and instruction in this area.
The Lunglei District LAD expresses its heartfelt gratitude to God, who has led us to this day. We sincerely thank all the past leaders who faithfully served this department, as well as everyone who has contributed their efforts, strength, and unceasing prayers toward the growth of the church and the spread of the Gospel.
