Zobawk Section was carved out of Theiriat Section and was inaugurated as the 21st Pastorate Section by Resolution No. 13 of the 59th UPC Lunglei District Conference. The District Conference entrusted the demarcation of the Section's jurisdictional boundary area directly to the District Board. Pursuant to Resolution No. 41 of the 212th District Board meeting, the Board took follow-up action accordingly. April 7, 2024 (Sunday) was appointed as the inauguration day for the new Section, and Zobawk Local was designated as the venue. The local churches included within the Section were designated as follows:

4. Dawn
5. Ralvawng

Resolution No. 42 of the 212th District Board meeting assigned Rev. C. Vanlalena, who had just completed his term as District Superintendent, as the Section Pastor. The members of the Section were very pleased.

Inauguration of the Section :

On Sunday, April 7, 2024, Rev. C. Lalrintluanga, District Superintendent, officially inaugurated the new Section at Zobawk Local. On this day, along with District leaders, many leaders from District Departments also joined us. Furthermore, a large gathering of church members from both the new Section and Theiriat Section attended. Gifts were also received from District Departments and other Sections.

Outgoing Section Pastor and Current Status :

The first Section Pastor was Rev. C. Vanlalena. He moved into Zobawk Section on April 16, 2024, but having been elected as the General Missions Director, he departed Zobawk Section for Aizawl on May 22, 2024. He served as Section Pastor for 1 month and 6 days. On May 28, 2024, the family of the new Section Pastor, Rev. Jerry Lalmuanawma, moved into Zobawk Section from Chawngte Section.

Acquisition of Pastor Quarters Property :

The Section Board appointed the following members to search for a site for the Pastor Quarters: Elder P. Lalthanzuala, Elder V. Darthuama, Evan Lianmawia, Bro. Lalramdinthara, and the Section Pastor.

They made every effort in their search, and on August 16, 2024, we purchased the Joint YMA Zobawk property for 19 Lakhs. We were very pleased. However, local circumstances led to strong opposition. As requested goodwill by the Joint YMA, we refunded the payment back to them. It was disheartening, a situation that we will likely never forget.

In the continued providence of God, the District purchased our current Quarters property for us for 15 Lakhs on August 16, 2024. The church members were overjoyed and deeply relieved. At present (the year 2025), since we do not yet have a constructed Quarters, Elder V. Darthuama's house is being rented/used as a temporary Quarters. We hope to construct it in 2026.

God's Work :

Zobawk Section had 520 members at its inception in 2024, and at the time of preparing this report (2025), the membership has reached 573. During 2024, Tithes amounting to Rs. 18,68,157 were remitted to the District, and continuous progress is expected. In fulfilling activities assigned by the District and Section, the Section members consistently remain among the frontrunners, displaying great unity. In Ralvawng Local, the District assigned a Home Missionary starting in 2025. The first Home Missionary stationed by the District was Evan T. Laltlawmlova; back when it was combined with Theiriat Section into a single section, several Section-employed Evangelists had already been stationed there.
