About MAUSEN LOCAL CHANCHIN

HISTORY OF MAUSEN LOCAL CHURCH

Mausen village is situated on a scenic hilltop 7 km from Haulawng, along the historic walking route between Haulawng and Pukpui. Due to the Mizo political insurgencies, residents were relocated to the Zotlang grouping center in Lunglei in 1968. Following government order permitting return after peace was restored, several villagers returned in 1973 to resettle their homeland.

In search of better infrastructure and developmental prospects along the main road, the community relocated from the hilltop to Mausen Kawn in 1986. Due to limited space for expansion, they moved again in 1995 to their current location (formerly known as 'Arbaikawn'), where the village continues to flourish under the name Mausen.

CHURCH ORIGIN AND PIONEER LEADERS

In April 1962, Evangelist Thinhnema conducted evangelical outreach in Mausen, resulting in 7 converts baptized in Jesus' name. In 1963, Pastor J. Laltluanga and his father led revival services, leading to 43 additional baptisms. Recognizing the steady growth, Pastor Hrangchhina formally organized the local church in 1963.
