The first person among the inhabitants of S. Lungdai to be baptized in the name of Jesus was Pu Thanchhinga (father of Rev. C. Darnghaka); he received baptism in the name of Jesus in 1961 at Rahsiveng, Lunglei, during the Lunglei District UPC Conference.

On 18th November 1962, Pastor Zabuaia established the UPC Church in S. Lungdai, and the following individuals were baptized in the name of Jesus at the Phulraw spring:

Pastor Zabuaia immediately appointed these individuals as church leaders:

They held positions of church leadership until 1968, with a church membership of around 45. In 1966, political disturbances broke out in Mizoram, and in 1968, because the village of South Lungdai was regrouped into Haulawng, the Church could not function continuously and was temporarily abandoned. Beginning in 1972, the re-establishment of South Lungdai village commenced through temporary settlements. On 23.3.1976, 5 people were baptized in the name of Jesus at the hands of Evan. C. Darnghaka. On 20.5.1976, another 4 people received baptism in the name of Jesus under Pastor K. Lalzarliana. In 1977, church leaders were appointed under the leadership of Evan. C. Darnghaka:

Including the present RCC structure, the church building has been rebuilt five times. There are currently around 97 members.
